Delk Christmas

Unfortunately, I have not downloaded Joe's pics from his camera yet. However... I do have pics from Beth's Facebook page!
As is tradition, we woke up on Christmas morning to find that Santa had once again set up our tree while we were sleeping! Exciting! We spent the morning opening gifts, eating breakfast, and watching the new Laurie Berkner Band DVD.
In the afternoon, Joe's family came to the house for lunch/ dinner.

This is Abby wearing her new dress made by her Aunt Kitty (Melissa). She is accessorizing by wearing Uncle Craig's hat.
She LOVES her Uncle Craig. For at least 2 weeks now, she has been talking about Uncle Craig and Aunt Beth, so you can imagine her excitement when they came in the door. Abby was not happy unless she was either in Craig's lap, or had Craig's undivided attention.

Here' s Andy in his Christmas outfit. He is eating one of Grammy Delk's cookies she made. He loved the cookies so much that he would snag another one each time he passed the dining room table. He was so sneaky, I didn't realize he was doing it until his 3rd cookie.

Andy's favorite toy this Christmas was a toy train that he received from Grammy and Papa Delk. I'll have to get a pic of it and post it later, but he still has not put it down. He sleeps with it.

Isaac refused to wear the Christmas outfit I had planned for him. For some reason he has an aversion to the color red. I can't figure it out, but he refuses to wear any of his red shirts. So, this was the outfit he chose for himself.

Isaac was excited to see everyone... so excited that he went all day with no nap. He decided his job was to guard the gifts.

We were blessed, I guess, with a white Christmas. Honestly, I would have been happier if the snow had not been wasted on a holiday, and used instead on a school day.
Our house is situated so that we do not get a lot of daytime sun on our yard. In fact, the house across the street has no snow let in their yard, yet ours is still covered, and our steps are still covered in ice. It's really annoying.

Everyone had a great time! Craig and Beth even stayed the night at our house, and we celebrated by watching some of Castle Season 1. (Best show ever, by the way) Abby was very happy to get to see her Uncle Craig on Sunday morning.

But, it's not over yet! We have Joe's extended family's Christmas on Friday, and my family's Christmas on Saturday. I will attempt to find my camera between now and then.

Halloween

We went incredibly cheap this year in the Delk house. Not on candy of course, 11 bags of it. No, we went cheap on costumes. Originally, Abby was going to wear a Minnie Mouse costume that we were going to borrow from the day care. However.... I forgot it. But, it just so happened that we inherited a costume from one of my mommy friends; I had just forgotten about it until I was cleaning out the twins' closet.

Abby was a pretty pink poodle. I'm not sure if I inherited it from Andrea Weaver, or Andrea Tate- either way, we were happy to have it!

The only money we spent was on Andy's costume... $1 for the bandanna. Farmer Andy. He is actually wearing a pair of Abby's overalls, his were in the wash. So, even Andy is wearing borrowed clothes!

Isaac went as a baseball player, which must come as a shock to you all. He wore a Braves jersey that we inherited from my coworker, Ansley. He wore baseball pajama pants, and his helmet that he got from Grammy and Papa Delk.

Here are Abby and Andy, almost ready to go!

Freckles on and ready to go!! Aunt Kiki, our neighbor Kayla, got each of the kids a Peanuts bag to take trick-or-treating. The twins used theirs, but Isaac had to carry around the pumpkin basket. I have a feeling they will all become Abby's new purses.

As it turned out, fun was not had by all. Isaac did well going up and asking nicely for candy, "Hey guys! I want some candy!" but he always remembered to say thank you. Abby followed Isaac, but only said thank you, never willing to ask for anything.

Andy FLIPPED OUT. He did not want to go up to the door, and did not want to interact with anyone. He just wanted to walk. So, after we made out 1 loop around the neighborhood, Joe took Andy for another lap; just walking, no stopping for candy.

The rest of the night included Abby giving out hand fulls of candy to each kid as they came up- we ran out of candy pretty quickly, Isaac counting his stash- 19 pieces in all, and Andy sitting on the porch eating M&Ms. I call it a success.

Visits

After Julia's party, the twins and I stayed with Grammy and Papa Joe while Joe took Isaac back to Chattanooga. The twins had a great time, and they were willing to have pictures taken!! Abby was the biggest cheeser!

Abby- cute as can be.

Andy- just playing with his trains.

Abby and Grammy- do you see what I mean about Abby being a cheeser?

Abby couldn't decide who to impress; the camera or Grammy.

Abby and Mommy. Abby is pointing out who the focus is in the picture.

Believe it or not, this was the best one of Abby and Papa Joe. She was loosing the cheese. I took some of Grammy, Papa Joe and the twins, but none of them worked out. We'll try next time.

When we left Murfreesboro, we decided to avoid construction traffic on 75 and go visit Aunt Beth and Uncle Craig instead. We had a fun visit and even went to church at Collegeside to hear Uncle JD lead singing. (no pics of the church service, but Abby did make a new friend with the woman sitting in front of us)

Abby and Andy on the stairs at Beth and Craig's.

Uncle Craig played the guitar while we sang the Wheels on the Bus.

Abby having fun with Aunt Beth.

Thanks for letting us come visit! We'll see you again soon!

Happy Birthday Julia!!

This past weekend, the Delks headed to the new Davis homestead. Julia celebrated her birthday in style- with family of all kinds showering her with attention.

Cutest cupcakes ever!

Aunt Boo, me, and Gommy Petty. 3 Pretty ladies!

Abby and Gommy Petty- sharing Gommy's chips. I don't know who had a better time with this arrangement, Abby or Gommy!

I love this pic because it shows both of the twins getting love. ;)

I think Julia was surprised- for the first time ever people were cheering her while she made a huge mess. The more the mess- the more the cheers!! I thought she was the most adorable little linebacker I've ever seen!

Joshua trying to prove just how big his mouth is. Get it Joshua!!

I'm not sure about Isaac and his new love of the side pose. It seems all of his pictures now-a-days have him posing this way. Oh well, at least he stays still for them.

We all had a great time. The food was yummy, the cake was cute, and the company was festive. Thanks for opening your house, Aunt Jenny! Happy Birthday Julia!!

At the game

That is.. at Joe's church league baseball game. I encouraged Joe to join the church league team in order to get him out of the house, and socializing with people his age more. He had a good time, and I got roped into taking the kids to one of the games. (other moms from our Sunday class were there and wondered where I was) So... here is what my kids decided to do instead of watching the game.

Andy found himself a wonderful pile of dirt to play with. His fun consisted of letting the dirt run through his fingers and then shoving it up his pants.

Abby decided that the ball park was too cluttered, so she decided to throw all the rocks away. This was after helping Andy with his pile of dirt.

Isaac had fun with the other little boys that were there. He played ball, rolled in dirt, and cheesed for the camera.

About 5 min after arriving at the ballpark, I decided that saying,"Stay out of the dirt," was pretty pointless. So, after consulting with the other mammas that this was a normal reaction from the children when faced with having to amuse themselves, I let them have at it.

Needless to say, the tub had a distinct ring around it after the threw them all in for their baths. (all at the same time)

Never again.

Bubbles!!

My kids love chasing bubbles. The best thing about these bubbles is the satisfying pop they make on impact. Not bad for $1 bubbles from Wal-Mart!
Side note- we are potty training Isaac- thus the lack of pants. I don't know if that's a potty training thing or just a boy thing.

Andy- he always has the biggest smile when doing this!

Abby and Andy

It took me a while to convince Isaac that eating bubbles was a bad idea. After catching one he looked at me and said, "Mommy! That's yucky!" And then he did it two more times.

Happy (Belated) Birthday, Aunt Boo!!

I had to do some research for this post. I had lots of pictures from Grammy and Papa Joe's house, but I couldn't remember the reason we had gone to visit! Sooo, after some phone calls, I remembered that it was Aunt Boo's birthday party! (Joanna, you can't get upset that I couldn't remember- I called you and you couldn't remember either!)

Jenny and I did not plan on having the girl's match, but it was a cute coincidence!

At least they sat next to each other long enough to get some pics. It didn't last long.

Cute Aunt Boo and Cousin Joshua.

Andy and Julia played well together. I think Andy liked playing with someone who isn't as loud as his siblings.

I rwally love this pic of Abby and Grammy. (or Mimi, as Abby likes to call her) Abby asks to talk to Mimi and Papa Joe on the phone at least 3 times a week. I can imagine what her phone bill will be like when she is a teen.

The twins and I stayed the night instead of driving back. Here is a pic of Abby in a new outfit that Mimi and Aunt Boo found. She knows she's cute!

It was lots of fun, and Aunt Samantha got to come too! Unfortunately, I didn't get pics of Samantha, but Jenny did- so check out her blog for pics.

We love visitors!

We love when visitors come to play with us! Here are some people who have come to see us lately...

Some of our favorite visitors are our neighbors! This is Aunt Kiki and UncleTravis. Abby asks for Kiki at least twice a day. Kiki encourages Abby's girly nature by talking about things like shoes, purses, and shopping. (You know, things Mommy doesn't care about) It's a good thing Abby has such a good mentor!

Isaac likes Aunt Kiki too, but his favorite is Uncle Travis. Isaac gets very excited when he hears Travis' lawn mower; he goes to the window to watch. He also likes going next door to watch Travis play video games.
I couldn't get Andy to sit and smile, but we did try! Andy likes Kiki and Travis too. He likes anyone with a lap to sit on.

Uncle Craig came to visit us recently. He came to go with Isaac and Joe to a Braves game. (see the post below for details about the game- the one where Isaac got 2 balls)
Andy was the only one lucky enough to get a pic with Uncle Craig.

Also visiting with us is the famous European model, Isaac Benjamin. Notice his "haute couture" outfit. And his expert posing. He is touring America now, mostly baseball games. His poses are "Baseball chic".

Say "Cheese!"

It has become the new morning routine to go downstairs, eat breakfast, and take pictures. I left my camera on the table by the couch, so that is what Abby wants to play with. So, here are some cute pics of cute kids. Abby and Isaac love to pose; Andy, not so much, but I got some good ones anyway!

Cutie. She just sat down and said "Cheese!"

Isaac didn't want to be forgotten.

I was surprised I got this cute one of Andy. He never poses. This was a lucky shot!

The next day, Abby wanted to model again.
Isaac's new favorite book/ video is Chicka-Chicka- Boom-Boom. This is the coconut tree he made to go with the story.
This is Andy getting caught before he climbed up into the chair. He likes just sitting at the table. Notice he also has his Thomas train on the chair. I believe he "borrowed" it from Grammy and Papa Joe's house.

Big Weekend for Isaac

Hello Everyone out there. This is Isaac. I had a really big weekend and I wanted to tell you guys about it.

On Saturday, Mommy took me and Abby and Andy to Gommy Petty's house for a Happy Birthday Party for Gommy. That's Mommy's Grammy. Her Birthday is Tuesday. Daddy met us there and then we had dinner.

Saturday night, Daddy took me to a Nashville Sounds game. I like going there because they have a big guitar as the scoreboard. I tried to get a ball from the bullpen pitchers but they left me hanging.

It was a fun game but I did not like the fireworks at all. They were loud and chased us all the way back to the car. They were scary but Daddy kept telling me that it would be OK. I don't believe him.

We drove from Nashville to Ringgold were we were going to meet Uncle Craig at our house. We all went to sleep at 1:30 in the morning.

The next day we went to a Braves Game for Uncle Craig's birthday. The Braves were playing the Brewers. I love the Braves.

The coolest thing about this game was that during the game, the 3rd base Umpire (Daddy says his name is Angel Hernandez), called me out of the stands and gave me a ball.

Daddy and Uncle Craig were also really excited because Brian McCann hit a Grand Slam in the game. Daddy said he had never seen that before. Jason Heyward and Chipper Jones are my favorite players but I really like Brian McCann, too.

I also liked cheering for Bobby Cox as well.

But not only did I get one baseball, I got two. At the end of the game, Daddy took me down to the fence to see if any of the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen pitchers would give us a ball. But none of them had one. We were heading back to our seats and suddenly a Brewers coach appeared and asked me if I wanted a ball. Of Course I want a ball. Daddy and Uncle Craig could not figure out who he was only that his number was 55.
It was a fun long weekend.
