2014 Annual Baseball Road Trip - Day 3 - Rochester, NY

Hello everyone out there, Isaac here to give you guys an update on our trip. We started out super early today because Rochester Red Wings had a day game because it is Memorial Day. We left the hotel at 4:30 AM this morning. Daddy told us we had to leave so early because he had a special treat for us. Andy thought it was ice cream but Daddy said we were going to Niagara Falls. Andy then thought we were going to Fall Creek Falls but he said this was a new waterfall. We went to the American side. Daddy kept talking about the fact that it had been over 18 years since he had been there. I am not sure how long that is but it seems like a really long time.

This is from the overlook at the American Falls. I thought it was pretty cool. You can see the Horseshoe falls in the background.
Andy like it, too. It really liked throwing sticks off the edge. Do not Grammy Pat and Delk, we did not get close. Daddy would not let us.
This is Andy and I at the other side of the American Falls.

Andy really wanted to look to me to see what kind of reaction to get.
After awhile he just decided to chill and check out the waterfalls. He really wanted to look through the telescope.

I just thought it was cool as well.

This is Andy and I at the Horse Shoe Falls. Daddy said Mommy would be impressed because we were so close to Canada. Andy really liked being at the top of the US.

After we left Niagara Falls, we drove to Rochester, NY. We watched the Red Wings play the Syracuse Chiefs. It was a really fun game. We got to give the mascot Spikes a high five during the 1st.

We really liked the game because the Red Wings won 10-5 and we were very excited. We got a ball in the top of the 9th from the Red Wings 3rd baseman Deibinson Romero.
We really liked it here in Rochester. And don't worry...Daddy did not stuff us full of hotdogs. It was just a really windy day.

2014 Delk Annual Baseball Trip - Day 2

Hello again everyone. Day 2 is in the books and Isaac has taken over again. We left La Grange, KY this morning and made it to Akron, OH. We watched the Rubberducks and the Reading Fightin' Phils play today. It was a day game but it was beautiful. Just enough clouds to make the sun not as bad. The Rubberducks lost 3-0 and Andy was telling every usher he could find that he was "So Mad!! that the Akron Rubberducks were losing."

We scored another ball. The catcher for the Fightin' Phils, Lars Davis, gave us the strikeout ball that ended the first inning. Bryan LaHair was the batter.

Well we tried to go to church but the one Daddy had picked out in Kent was closed. So we ended up eating dinner at DQ and happened to bump into not only one but two couples from the church in surrounding areas. We found out that the church we had planned was now defunct because of eminent domain. Seems the city is using the land to build an upscale housing development. Funny but it was nice to meet two couples in Akron that were members of the church of Christ.

Anyway enough about that. I know that people out there want to see pictures so here goes.

Here is Andy and I when we went on our walk around.
Did I mention we got to run the bases? We got to run the bases. Here we are in line waiting to go on the field.
Here I am rounding second. I got to say my name really loud on the PA system and the camera man got me on the big screen. It was awesome!
Here is Andy outside the gate when we were getting ready to leave.
And this is beautiful Canal Park. This ballpark was really awesome and is a cool place to watch a game.

2014 Baseball Annual Road Trip - Day 1

Hello Everyone out there....This is Isaac taking over the blog again. We have started our 7th Annual Baseball Road Trip. It is hard to believe that we have been doing this for seven years now. Scroll back through the blog and check out the Carolina League in 2008, Minnesota in 2009, Pittsburgh and others in 2010, Florida State League Stops in 2011, Heading out to some of the Texas League in 2012, One stop with the Charlotte Knights in 2013. Now it is time to knock out some of the Eastern League in 2014.

Tonight we went to see the Louisville Bats. The Bats won against the Buffalo Bisons 6-0. I am not sure what a Bison is but Daddy tells me it is a big animal.

Before we went to the game we toured the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. Andy, Daddy and myself thought it was pretty cool to watch them make some big league bats and go through the factory. Andy even got to push one of the buttons on the tour. We got to see one machine that finished the bats once they were cut. We got to keep some of the pegs from the bats as they were trimmed. The tour guide could not tell us who the bats were for but I think it is for Freddie Freeman. The coolest thing about the tour was the big bat out front. It was huge and went all the way up into the sky. I even got a culled bat from the museum that was pretty neat. Daddy said Mommy would be excited. The coolest thing about touring the museum was that we all got mini bats. Daddy again said Mommy would be soooooooo excited. I know I am.

The Bats play at Louisville Slugger Field. We got a ball during the game from #36 Raul Valdes. Daddy said that was pretty cool because he used to pitch for the Phillies, but this year he only pitched a few games for Houston before he was designated for assignment. That makes 36 balls for the year. Hopefully tomorrow we will get more.

Anyway enough writing...I know you guys just want to see pictures, so here you go.

This is Andy sitting in a replica dugout that is the Louisville Slugger Museum.
We each got to take a turn standing at the plate with a real major league bat. Andy is holding Pee Wee Reese's bat. His got good form and the stare down pat.

I took my turn holding the bat and got to use batting gloves.
Here we are the base of the big bat. I got my "cull" bat on my shoulder. Did I mention that one of the museum workers also gave me a Cleveland Indians bat. Mom is going to love it.
Here is Buddy the Bat - Louisville's Mascot - He was funny.
This is a picture I took of the Catcher #15 Mike Nickeas. I think this is a pretty good picture.

Delk Annual Baseball Trip - 5th Edition - Day 4.1

Hello everyone out there. This is Isaac again. Daddy wanted me to apologize for being so late in getting these updates out there. I know it has been two weeks since we got home so hopefully we will get all the stories from the trip out there.

Day 4 had us going to Oklahoma City to check out the Redhawks. But we had some extra stops along the way.

Since we were going through to OKC, Daddy said we could take a detour to Springdale, AR and check out the Arkansas Naturals stadium.

All that matters is we got some more bats. The field was pretty nice and they were having a children's day there so we watched some Sponge Bob with a lot of kids from Springdale that were in the stadium.

Abby was very excited about her new pink bat.

Me, I was just content to hold onto mine really tight.

Abby wanted to check out the Naturals enormous scoreboard.

Well it was not too long before we had to hit the road again.

Delk Annual Baseball Trip - 5th Edition - Day 3

Hello everyone out there. This is Isaac taking over the blog. Daddy, Abby and I finally got back in town and we are ready to fill in the rest of the trip. Day three we went to the Arkansas Travelers in Little Rock, AR. This was a really long day as we had to go through Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas to get to the game.

We left out and headed on. We stopped in Jackson, MS to check out the Mississippi Braves. But they were closed. I was really upset about this. This was one stadium I really wanted to see and was very excited that we were going to stop there. However, there was a sign posted on the door saying they were closed.

This was as close as we got. So, we ate some lunch and then hit the road again.

We got to Little Rock and Daddy was worried that we would not get to see the game because of big storm that we drove through. He was worried that we would have the first rain out ever in Delk Baseball Trip history. But when we got to the stadium it was cleared out and was a pretty nice night.

Dickey-Stevens Park was pretty cool. We got there when the gates opened. They had a wonderful back drop to the field with downtown Little Rock.

Uncle Craig said that Aunt Beth really liked this ball park because they had an actual organ player that was on the concourse. We got a better treat because we had a full Brass Ensemble.

Isaac really liked the field. Abby would not take a picture with me, but Daddy got this one with me standing behind home plate.

The highlight of the game for both Abby and I was "Shelly", the Arkansas Travelers mascot. He is a donkey. I got to meet him.

Abby just wanted to pull his tail.

They had a player cut out in the Kid's Zone that I really liked. But the steps were a little too high for me.

Like I said, it was a pretty park. The game ended with a Travelers win over the San Antonio Missions. I even got a ball from the Missions first baseman Nathan Freiman. He is the guy in the on-deck circle below.

Abby finally did pose for a picture. She got a Shelly doll from the team store.

Well check back here in a little while and I will have Day 4 posted.

Delk Annual Baseball Trip - 5th Edition - Update

Hello everyone out there. This is Isaac again. I know many of you have been anxiously awaiting more pictures. Trust me they are coming. We have just been stuck with some really long games and hotels with poor internet speed. We will try to have full pictures tomorrow morning when we are heading out to go home.

Here is a picture Daddy took of us at the Alamo. He told us that Mommy really wanted a picture of us wearing cowboy hats, but I think he really wanted it himself. Abby didn't want to wear her hat, she wanted a horsie. Daddy talked her into wearing it.

We are having fun and we are safe so far.

Isaac.

Delk Annual Baseball Trip - 5th Edition - Day 2

Hello Everyone out there...this is Isaac your roving Delk reporter coming to you from Mobile, AL.

Day 2 of our Baseball Trip is in the books and we are in Mobile today. We started off the day in Pensacola, FL. After church, we made the short drive to Mobile to watch a "Multiple" Bay Bears game. It was in the middle of the afternoon and very hot. In addition to that, the game was like one Uncle Craig has been to this year. The final score was 14-10 and we did not even stick around for the full game.

The reason, we had to take Abby to the beach. Abby really loved it and I told her all about it. She was even pouting in the game about wanting to go to the beach. Well I know you guys just want to see pictures of us instead of me writing...so here are pictures of Abby and I.

Here I am enjoying sitting in some originals seats from Fulton County Stadium. We were enjoying some time away from the game in the shade. Abby was pouting here about the beach.

Here are Abby and I on top of Bay Bear Mountain. Daddy decided to take us for a walk and let us run around some.

Abby was posing some too.

I decided to pose some too. Abby was distracted by something going on in the game.

The stadium felt sorta old...it might have been the fact it was a Sunday Afternoon game and extremely hot. Here is something Abby and I both liked. The mascot!

So we left with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th. It was 14-5. Hard to believe they scored 5 more runs. Then we were off to Dauphin Island. Enjoy these pictures. This was our one shot at the beach this trip.

Abby's first look at the ocean. She saw it last night, but this is the first time she walked on a beach. Kinda brings a tear to my as I watched my sissy enjoy it. She giggled a bunch.

Of course I am an old pro at this. Remember this picture....

Well needless to say, Abby enjoyed it.

Well we are off to bed now. Daddy said we have to get up early tomorrow if we are going to make it to Arkansas Travelers. Should not be too bad though.

Isaac.

Delk Annual Baseball Trip - 5th Edition - Day 1

Hello Everyone out there... This is Isaac taking over the blog again to tell you all about our Baseball Trip 2012!

Day 1 is in the books and we had a fun trip down to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. On our way down, we stopped at the Montgomery Biscuits. Daddy has been here before but Abby and I have not. We just stopped and got pictures of the field and of course .... Bat and Pennants. I also got a baseball card set and Abby got a Big Mo doll.

Here are Abby and I posing in front of a Biscuits Sign. Daddy had a tough time getting us both to look at him.

Here is Abby putting on her best pose.

Here is Abby modeling the latest Minor League Ball Park trip outer wear. Available in Department and Consignment Stores near you.

We then went on to Pensacola's Blue Wahoos.

It was 70's night. There was a lot of people dressed funny. Platforms and Polyester. Not mention Big Hair.

We even got in on the Disco Fever.

Daddy got us the normal bat and pennants, but we also got Mommy a shirt. We had a lot of fun and I even thought the fireworks were fun. Daddy even bought us some interesting head gear.

We had lots of fun. Today, Daddy is taking us to the Mobile Baybears.

Isaac!
