Isaac's New Career

Hello everyone again. Isaac here. With the budget cuts going on in the Delk household, I have decided to help the family out by starting a career. Dad had a serious talk with me about pulling my own weight and helping out with the family expenses.

Needless to say, but this news took me by surprise. I was very shocked. I decided to think really hard at what I might be good at. Since I see that commercial on TV alot of the baby doing E-Trade, I figured I would do some day trading to see if I could get some cash flow going.

I made sure Dad wasn't looking so I could take some of his cash for some start up capital. Of course, he wasn't, so I took $1000 to get started.
I turned on the TV to CNBC to see what they were saying were some good stocks that I should check out. The people on TV were telling me all sorts of things. Mainly that Cramer guy was yelling about a whole bunch of nothing.

I decided to ditch the TV talking heads and do some online research of my own.

There sure were a bunch of numbers and projections over which stocks were going to be good and which ones were going to be bad. I just had to stop and stare at all the data flowing across the screen. It really was too much to take in.

Well this one looked like a good one. The projections were that it would take off even in a down economy.

Should I buy it. Oh man this is tough. That little kid on TV made it look so easy. I am not sure about this.

Maybe if I just close my eyes and hit enter it would be OK.

What! I just bought stock. I just bought stock and it immediately started going down. I am in panic mode. Should I sell, should I keep it. Man this day trading stuff is too stressful.

Nah, on second thought I will just watch it throughout the day and hopefully it will go up.

A few hours later I check it again. Huh? Look at that. It doubled in price. I guess it was smart not to panic.

Wait a second. If it doubled in price, that means I just made Dad a $1000 bucks. That is funny.

That is so cool. I just bought stock, held on to it and made money. All right here on the laptop. This is pretty cool. If I keep this up. I can get a clown with this extra coin. Of course, I will probably underestimate the creepiness of the clown.

Dad will be so proud of me. Of course I will have to figure out some way to explain the initial $1000, but I think he will be OK with it once he sees how I used it.

I would say that was pretty good for the first day. Watch out Wall Street, here I come.

More Isaac and the Senators

Hey guys out there, this is Isaac again. I just wanted to write a quick blog to make my Aunt Jenny and Cousin Josh jealous. Today, Daddy took me to another Saxby Chambliss event and I got to meet U.S. Senator Bob Corker. It was pretty cool to get to meet three U.S. Senators in a week. Who knows, maybe I will get to meet Lamar Alexander next week.

Anyway here are the pictures to make my Aunt Jenny green with envy.

Bob Corker talked to the crowd about the importance of getting Saxby Chambliss elected. I was inspired to get out there and campaign myself.

When the event was about to close I got to meet Mr. Corker face to face. I was a bit disappointed though that it was time to go. So I was a bit mad.

(Actually this was before the event started and I was very happy to meet Mr. Corker. He commented on what a fine young man I was. But when Daddy gave away his camera to another person to take the picture it really upset me.)

Grammy Pat helps with budget cuts

I had a twin appointment on Wednesday and Grandpa Joe and Aunt Boo came to take me to them. Isaac was glad to see them because they brought him a puzzle to play with! Grammy Pat had heard the rumors of toy cuts in the Delk house, and sent Isaac something to play with besides a metal bowl.

What you might not know about our little Isaac, is that he is an accomplished puzzle worker. He loves working the puzzles at school.

Isaac didn't ask for any help. He did this all by himself! Mommy likes that the pieces are big, and colorful, since we are trying to work on colors at the Delk house.

This piece is "red", says Isaac. Red is the color of all the pieces so far. We'll keep working on it.
Twin update- both doctors said the twins are looking good. Their fluid levels are healthy, and they are both trying out their lungs. Aunt Boo even got to see them using their lungs when she went to the appointment with me. (on the ultrasound) My regular doctor said he predicts a 60% chance that the babies are born within the week, so Thanksgiving babies are possible. I hope that doesn't happen because that would mean that Joe would win the baby bet. I am already 3cm dialated, so my doctor told me to go straight to the hospital if anything should worry me.
I'll tell you one thing- the only thing I'll be worried about tonight is whether or not Twilight the movie is like the book or not!

Isaac has to get creative

Hey guys, Isaac again. Mom and Dad are working on getting out of debt in anticipation of my little brother and sister coming and that means there has to be some cuts! I mean it is not like they're going to get a bailout from Congress or anything. So the first program to be cut, toys. Mom and Dad said I would have to make do with a mixing bowl.

I am not happy.

But I guess I will have to make it work. Daddy tried to show me an easy way to play with the mixing bowl by wearing it as a hat.

I politely tell Dad that I don't want to look like a dork. I can't believe he tried to put that on my head.

Well it looks like Mom and Dad are serious and going through with this plan of cutting the toy budget. Maybe I can come up with something if I just sit here long enough. Think, think, think.....ah man this works for Winnie the Pooh .... Think, think, think.

Well Mom and Dad don't know but I took a spoon before they tried to get rid of it on E-Bay. Maybe just maybe if I hit the top of the mixing bowl with the spoon. Just like this.....

BANG! BANG! BANG! CRASH! CRASH! Yeah this is fun. This will teach Mom and Dad to not buy me toys..... Ha Ha Ha.

Mom is now complaining about a headache. If I keep this up, maybe I will get more toys and they will cut something else, instead.

What!!!! They decided to cut the food budget instead. I guess this is all I get to eat. My one poor bowl of ..... nothing?

Well I guess since they aren't going to buy me more toys and they're cutting the food budget, I am starting to get the point. In fact I am inspired by their determination. I am even getting in the act. I am going to use this mixing bowl to get a jump start on potting training to save on diapers.

Better late than never...

So, I was downloading pictures from my camera that I took today, and found pictures from Isaac's Halloween party at school. They are too cute, so I am going to do a late Halloween post to let you see the cuteness of the kids in his "class".

This is Brayden, the current baby of the class. He was a ghost. He was working very hard on the Cheeto in is hand.

Here is Ali and Collin, they are enjoying their cupcakes.

This is Cash, he was a cute skeleton. He actually gave me a big smile before this picture was taken, but my camera was not fast enough.

And here is Isaac. Notice the cupcake still on his plate. He was not interested in the cupcake, so Mommy had to eat it so it wouldn't go to watse. He did love the Cheetos, and had seconds.

I really liked this picture of "Thoughtful Isaac", even though he has demon eyes. Well, it was Halloween, and he is my little monster, so maybe it fits.

Isaac and the senators

Hello again everybody. Isaac here and today, I am playing political correspondent. Although it will be 16+ years until I get to vote. I want to get out there and meet these guys that are going to lead our country.

Daddy took me to a Saxby Chambliss rally today. He is running for U.S. Senator in Georgia. Daddy really wants him to win. I am not allowed to discuss why for fear of making Grandma Pat mad.

It was pretty fun though. I was able to meet all my Washington elected officials today. I got to meet Nathan Deal, Congressman from the 9th District.

I also got to meet Johnny Isakson, U.S. Senator for the great state of Georgia. The guy standing behind Mr. Isakson is Col. Poole. He was dressed pretty funny, but I liked him.

And I also got to meet Saxby Chambliss, U.S. Senator from the great state of Georgia.

Daddy also took my picture with him.

I also got my picture taken with Nathan Deal and Johnny Isakson.

I had alot of fun on the trip. But politics aside, Daddy showed me why this country is so great by showing me the mountains today. All I can say is "Wow!"

Overlook on Fort Mountain.

Isaac and History

Hi everyone out there, this is Isaac again.
I want to tell you about a trip that Daddy and I took the other day. He took me to Chickamauga Battlefield. This is where one of the big battles of the Civil War was fought. I remember this summer Daddy took me to Appomattox Court House where it ended, but this was something totally different.

As you can tell it was a very beautiful day fall day. I had lots of fun but I did not like the museum too much. They had a room filled with guns used in the battle and I did not like that much.

We went for a hike through the woods which I had a lot of fun with. Daddy tried to show me stuff but I was more interested in all the leaves. They made a fun crunchy noise when I walked through them.

I also like to stop on the trail and play with the rocks a bunch too.

There were lots of cannons in the park too. They were posted where the soldiers had their heavy artillery set up. I was very impressed.

There were also a lot of monuments in the park. I really liked these. Daddy would not let me climb on them though but that's OK.

There were also some old houses that were on the field of battle as well that I looked at. This one was full of lady bugs that chased me.

We took a break at one of the picnic tables in the park. With all that walking we needed a rest. Daddy's legs are much longer than mine.

All in all we had a lot of fun. I hope Daddy brings me back some more in the spring. The picture of me above just lets you know how cute I am.

Showered with love

This past Monday, I had my school shower for the twins. I am blessed to work with wonderful ladies, and two guys. (not gentlemen) :) It was just supposed to be a diapers and wipes shower, but you can't stop women when babies are inviolved! Thanks, ladies, for everything!!

This is a picture of my two peas in a pod. Sarah Lane, one of the kindergarden teachers, is extremely creative and made this for the twins. How cute!!

This is the diaper wreath that Lane made. It will go on our door when the kids come. I almost feel bad knowing that I'll have to tear it up to diaper my kids' butts.

This is the greatest bag ever! I ordered it it special from a friend-of-a-friend. (www.kmaccreations.com) It's two sided for the twins! This is obviously Abigail's side. Her name is monogrammed in the middle.

This is Andrew's baseball side. I have a feeling Joe will only carry the bag on this side.
Eat your heart out, Joanna! I know you're jealous! :)
Update- I went to the specialist yesterday for my 32 week check-up and the twins are huge! Abby is measuring at 4 pounds, 4 oz. Andy is 5 pounds, 1 oz. Andy has also turned like his sister, so they are both head-down.Let's hope they stay that way! The only trouble we encountered is that Abby's fluid is a little low. The doctor was not overly concerned, but we go back next week to check up on the situation. Keep your fingers crossed!
