Party Time! Excellent!

Isaac's actual birthday is a few days away, but we decided to party early. It was an Aunties party, with people from school and church. Mostly, it was an excuse to get together, with Isaac at the center. It was a success! Isaac had a great time and the adults had fun eating and gossiping.

This is the cake that Isaac picked out himself. We went to Publix (the best place in the world!) and while we were looking through the cake book, he jumped and started screeching when this page came up. He likes cars, who knew? Also, Publix is kind enough to give parents a baby cake for the child to dive into, as long as it is the child's frist birthday. I am in love with Publix.

Isaac is in love with his cake.

Cleaning

Since our house needs to be clean, and fast, we have decided to forego Child Labor Laws and put the kid to work. We clothe, feed and support Isaac. Now it's time he did something for us besides look cute and steal the remote!

Much to our surprise, he liked it!

Joe takes over the blog

Joe has been enjoying Jocelyn's posts so far on the blog, but hey about a Dad's perspective for crying out loud. Isaac also enjoys the great outdoors. Isaac will able to enjoy them a little more in the coming months as the weather warms up.

As you can see, Isaac can already taste the cool breeze and can't wait to be able to play outside again.

Here is another lovely outdoor pic. I wonder if he has ever eaten pine needles?

Home again, home again

Joe and I were very appreciative of Grammy and Papa Delk for watching Isaac for an extra night so we could sleep off the effects of sickness and youth retreats. Isaac had a great time with the grandparents.

When we got back home Isaac was so happy! We went inside and opened the blinds on the windows. Then Isaac climbed out of my arms, pulled himself up on the entertainment center, picked up his Baby Einstein, and started screeching. I took the hint. We have now watched Baby's First Moves three times in a row and he won't let me turn it off. Well, I'm glad he's home.

This was when Joe called and Isaac got to hold the phone and watch Baby Einstein at the same time. He was so excited!

Visiting Grammy Delk

Joe and I signed to up be chaperones for Winterfest this year. Winterfest ended up being a bust because I was sick the whole time with the flu, but Isaac did get to go visit Grammy and Papa Delk. He made the transition easily once Grammy told Isaac he could drive!

Valentines Party

So, the day care Isaac attends had a party for Valentines Day. Everyone brought in treats and cards. Of course Isaac had cards for his friends. I was the over protective mom who only let Isaac eat the cupcake, but not the icing.

As it turned out, Isaac was still really feeling the effects of his double ear infection, and he was not having a good time.

"Why is mom taking a picture and not picking me up?!"

This is Ms. Joanna, one of the day care teachers. Contrary to how Isaac is looking, he really does love Ms. Joanna!
p.s. Grammy (Pat) this is not going to traumatize Isaac when he gets older. This is not detrimental to his psyche. I am not making fun of him. Calm down.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Joe!

Isaac's Grandpa Joe's birthday was on Valentines Day. However, Jocelyn has been on her death bed with the flu since Thursday and has not gotten to post anything in a while. Well, Jocelyn is back to 75% and is ready to finally give Grandpa Joe the birthday tribute he deserves!

Happy (late) Birthday Joe!!!

Isaac loves being with is Grandpa Joe. They both enjoy eating snacks and watching sports shows.

Grandpa Joe and Isaac also both love trains. Here is Isaac playing with his train.

Spike

What most people don't know is that Isaac has an evil personality named Spike. We don't speak of him, and for obvious reasons. Aunt Sandy was kind enough to remind me of my motherly duties; and here is Spike in all his glory.

He looks happy here, but look in the eyes... it's all in the eyes. I know what you're thinking. How can this be? Where could this evil personality come from? His mother is so perfect...

Well, the source of Isaac's Dr. Jekyle/ Mr. Hyde transformation comes from his father. Don't tell me you've never noticed. Isaac and Joe have more alike than you might think. The next time you are around Joe, mention the word "democrat" and just watch the transformation take place. The same thing happens to Isaac when you mention the word...

A step in the right direction

That's right ladies and gentlemen!! Isaac took two steps!!

Let me tell you the whole exciting story...

It began on Tuesday afternoon once Jocelyn and Isaac got home. Jocelyn put Isaac down so she could get some things done. He pulled himself up in the ottoman and turned towards where his loving mother sat on the couch. He pulled away from the ottoman... and walked the two steps from the ottoman to the couch; into the loving arms of his mother.

It's the stuff of novels! It has love, adventure, thrills, and a happy ending. Who could ask for more?

Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures... but here are some from when he got his train. He's always been advanced for his age.

In the Beginning

In the beginning, there were Joe and Jocelyn. They were friends in college, and were married Dec. 30, 2003 and January 1, 2004. (for the tax cut)

On February 27, 2007 there was an addition to their family. His name is Isaac.

The Delks loved their son very much but, due to laziness, they did not get a camera until he was already 5-6 months old. No doubt, this will come up in Isaac's future therapy.

However, once they finally did get a camera, they took pictures to their heart's content.
This blog will help chronicle their lives, and hopefully get both sets of in-laws off their backs about not sending enough pictures of the grandchild.
Enjoy!
